A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed
True friends are real friends that develop a strong bond of friendship. It is the bond that teaches us how to live in this world and how to spend a happy life. The proverb A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed proposes to us that true friends are prompt to assist each other through thick and thin.
Only those are true friends who give their hands to their friends in trouble or difficult time. It is greed for wealth that makes the friend greedy that even their good friends become foes to one another. The following story elaborates clearly the moral A friend in need is a friend indeed.
Hard times will always reveal true friends
Once, there lived three friends in a village. They were poor and out of job. They were greedy ad selfish. They decided to go to the city for a job and promised to help one another through thick and thin.
One day, when they were passing through a thick forest, they found a bag that was full of golden and silver coins. They became happy to see this and decided to distribute it equally among themselves.
They were tired and hungry. They decided to send one of them to bring some food from the nearest market. The person who went to bring food from the market was very poor. He decided to gain all the coins.
I don’t need a friend who changes when I change and who nods when I nod; my shadow does that much better
He brought food and fresh drinking water from the market. On the way, he mixed some poison into the food and returned to his friends having sweet dreams about his golden future. The other two friends were also poor and greedy.
In the absence of their friend, they also decided to kill him. When the third friend returned, they killed him on the spot. After the death of their friend, they ate the poisoned food with joy. But they died after eating food before dividing the coins.
Making a million friends is not a miracle. The miracle is to make A friend who will stand by you when millions are against you
