Coronavirus is a contagious disease that spreads from one person to another through the germs of cough and sneezing. The increasing number of Covid-19 patients is occurring. Common respiratory tract infections are spread by respiratory droplets by an infected person to others.
Pandemic is not a word to use lightly or carelessly. It is a word that, if misused, can cause unreasonable fear, or unjustified acceptance that the fight is over, leading to unnecessary suffering and death
Coronavirus or covid-19 is a global pandemic through which every country has suffered on a massive scale. It has engulfed many lives of the people and created global health crises all across the world. The world has faced a great challenge after the second world war.
It brought a phenomenal change in the lives of the people of this planet. It emerged in all the continents of the world except Antarctica. It is a disease caused by a new strain of coronavirus. Covid-19 means Co stands for corona, VI stands for virus and D for disease.
A novel strain of Coronavirus out broke in Wuhan China in December 2019. It has spread now to 200 countries across the globe. It is declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization( WHO) on 11 March 2020. It is not yet clear where the virus has come from.
It is thought to be originated from the food market in Wuhan and resultantly spread from animal to human. Some researchers claimed that it is spread while performing a cross-species transmission but it is unclear the exact animal origin.
Coronavirus affects the respiratory tract, the common symptoms comprise fever, dry cough, sore throat, nasal congestion, headache, myalgia, malaise, and struggle for breath even. In severe conditions, it causes pneumonia, acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure, and finally death.
The diagnosis of coronavirus in patients with a continuous cough, fever, or loss of smell or taste (anosmia). A test for diagnosis is developed and the coronavirus patients are advised to quarantine themselves to protect themselves and others from this dangerous contagious virus.
Corona Pandemic is moving like a wave and it is not simply a health crisis but it devasted all the social, economic, and political structures of the world. It brought great economic crises around the world. During the spread of Covid-19, everything was in lockdown, and people were bound to stay home.
By closing everything and restricting human mobility, coronavirus led countries and their people to great economic crises. People’s businesses stopped and uncertain economic conditions has prevailed everywhere. People of advancing countries faced severe situations and became the victim of the dragon of the economic crises.
Social distancing was announced everywhere and all the schools, colleges, universities, shopping malls, markets, public and private offices, parks, restaurants, cafes, cinemas, theatres, and public places were banned to maintain social distancing.
A strict lockdown started all over the world for many days to avoid the severe situation and to protect humans from coronavirus. People were also instructed to wear masks and gloves whenever they go outside. Human activities were restricted. Hand sanitizers were advised to sanitize the hands.
Covid-19 has overturned societies and nations. It has dramatically altered everyday life across the globe. Social distancing and work from home is becoming a vital part of our lives. People are restricted to their homes and staying at home is more important than moving outside.
Although Our recent unprecedented circumstances are shaped by persistent societal realities of racial and economic inequality and the inability of the world’s democracies to confront the crises yet a social understanding is integral to apprehend the crises and planning a strategic path.
It is not easy to overcome this rampant coronavirus pandemic but many researches are being made. Now coronavirus vaccination is introduced in many countries after the great struggle of scientists.
The first patient who is given a vaccination is an aged female. It is also being implemented in many countries of the world. It will reach Pakistan in March and April and the Pakistanis will be benefitted from it.
We have a rare opportunity now to utilize this coronavirus crisis in thinking and performing differently and establishing more sustainable, resilient, and inclusive economies
