UET Lahore and UHS have agreed to establish a combined strategy for conducting an online entry test for Admissions to Medical & dental colleges of Punjab MDCAT for session 2020. VC UET reached UHS and met with Vice-Chancellor UHS Prof. Javed Akram, Senior Faculty, and staff members.
Prof. Mansoor Sarwar said that Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, UET will conduct an online entry test this year. ECAT is going to organize with the collaboration of Virtual University. 33,000 candidates will give e-cats on the computer rather than exam copies, says Prof Mansoor Sarwar.
A mock test would be conducted for the candidate’s practice in the last of this month before the particular ECAT.
The principles of social distance are going to be taken care of inside the IT lab. Prof Javed Akram VC UHS said that they will get benefit from UET’s experience in conducting online MDCAT for admission to medical colleges.
Both UET and UHS will develop a joint strategy in this regard. Prof. Javed Akram said it is expected that 80,000 candidates will participate in MDCAT. It’s a legal requirement to conduct an entrance test for admission in professional institutions.
In the wake of Corona, the protection of the candidates is the first priority, said Prof. Javed Akram. Both UET and UHS also agreed on the joint use of the Entrance Test Question Bank. VC UHS said that approval from HEC would be searched for a Joint Strategy for Online Entrance Test.
Punjab University will also be a part of this project, said Prof. Javed Akram. Special SOPs for entry test will be ensured in the wake of Corona. Supervising staff will have corona screening. It’s also suggested to segregate the Candidates with symbols.
