Punjab Publishes its Winter Vacation Two-Phased Schedule

Punjab Province has announced a two-phased winter break schedule in the public and private schools and colleges. According to reports, 24 districts in Punjab would close their schools and institutions for the winter holidays in two separate phases, from 23 December 2022 to 6 January 2023 and from 3 to 13 January, respectively

From December 23 to January 6, 2023, schools in the following districts will be closed: Sahiwal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Pakpattan, Sheikupura, Okara, Vehari, Lahore, Khanewal, Faisalabad, Khushab, Hafizabad, Multan, Toba Tek Singh, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Sargodha, Mandi Bahauddin, Lodran, Nankana Sahib, and Jhang.

From January 3 to January 13  Other districts: Rajanpur, Jhelum, Mianwali, Attock, Muzaffargarh, Chakwal, Bhakkar, Rawalpindi, Rahim Yar Khan, DG Khan, and Chiniot will follow this time schedule. Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, the Chief Minister of Punjab, presided over a high-level meeting on Tuesday to analyze higher education in the province and develop it in line with international standards.

In order to promote a healthy lifestyle in society, it was decided in the meeting to resume athletic activities in all educational institutions. Participants in the meeting also highlighted the colleges’ financial independence.

The conference was attended by the chief minister’s advisor, Aamir Saeed Raan, the chief secretary, Abdullah Sumbal, the secretary of higher education, and other important officials.
