Higher Education Department’s Timeline
Higher Education Department Punjab has given the initial plan for reopening of inter and degree colleges in the country. It is proposed the dates for online registration of first years students. The suggested date to start the registration of first-year students is July 10 and the admissions will be confirmed after the matriculation results.
In the report, the Department of Higher Education has obtained suggestions prepared by DPI colleges to revive educational activities in the colleges. It is indicated to start registration of first-year students in colleges from July 10. The registration of students will be online. The admissions of the first-year students in the colleges will be confirmed after the announcement of matric results by relevant boards.
It is proposed to reopen colleges from August 5 for the students of BS Hons. MA/MSc students will take their classes from August 15 while 2nd-year the class shall start from August 25. It is also suggested to restrict classes in colleges to 3 to 4 hours. Classes will be held in two shifts.
Reopening of Colleges in Punjab: Suggested Timeline
- August 05: BS Hons students will take their classes on campus
- August 15: MA/MSc classes will be resumed
- August 25: 2nd-year students will be called on college campuses for educational purposes
It is initiated to manage Honors classes from morning to 12 noon and Masters Classes program from 12 noon to 4 pm. Final approval of the suggestion will be provided at the inter-provincial ministerial meeting. At the moment, online classes have been taken in 615 out of 720 colleges in Punjab.
